Question 01/9 : What are the different application fields?

Rainwater / stormwater can be stored for infiltration, for attenuation with outlet control or for reuse (rainwater harvesting)

Details

Infiltration basin
Stored stormwater infiltrates into the surrounding soils (percolation). Rainwater will be feed local to the natural water cycle (groundwater).

Attenuation basin
Stormwater will be stored in the buffer basin, peak flows are attenuated using an outlet control structure to the connected sewer pipe.

Harvesting basin (cistern)
F filtered rainwater will be stored for later use as irrigation and non potable water usage (e.g. toilet flushing, laundry, fire fighting)

Factors that have to be taken into account: connected area, water amount, water quality, installation depth, traffic load, available area, soil conditions, ground water level
